1. Accurate results from
reputable sources
While RPhWorld Search uses Google for its search functionality, there
are clear differences between the two: Google searches the entire web
for the matched search term BUT RPhWorld only searches from a portion of
the web that are relevant to pharmacists and other healthcare
practitioners. The websites that RPhWorld searches from are
carefully selected to include those that are reputable such as those
from hospitals, universities, professional organizations etc...
Because Google searches
all websites, its search results include those from reputable as well as
non-reputable sources. Google rank search results based on
popularity of the sites NOT their credibility or reputability.
Sites that are popular may not be necessary the ones that are credible.
These sites' results would show up on the first few pages of Google
search. Users would have to sift through these to get to the
relevant and credible ones.
RPhWorld Search overcomes
these issues by searching only from reputable sites. Some of these
sites are so unpopular that their useful contents would not show in the
first 5 pages of Google search results. As RPhWorld Search
emphasizes these sites, their contents would be more likely to show up
in the first few pages of search results. RPhWorld Search also
filter out sites that need paid registration to view their contents.
2. Pharmacist specific
search refinement topics
RPhWorld Search also
includes useful search term refinements that further lead to more
fine-tuned results. These refinement topics include:
